The greatest protection against incurring untenable financial liabilities and other family stressors is early preparation. The Fleet & Family Support Center or Army Community Service Center at your current location and the office at NAS JRB Fort Worth can assist you in accomplishing this task.
We will assist you in details about current housing availability, cost of living, child care, schools and recreational opportunities in the Fort Worth, Texas vicinity. We are also capable of assisting with move planning, cultural adjustments, personal and family financial planning and assistance for coping with possible emotional stressors which can accompany PCS planning and relocation.
Once you arrive, use the Lending Locker to check out some small items to hold you over until your household goods shipment arrives. We are able to check out a standard issue loan locker which contains dishes, eating utensils, drinking glasses, a toaster, a coffee maker and other small utensils.
Relocation Assistance
Personnel contemplating renting a home or apartment should be aware that once you have moved here, the government will not move you a second time to a new location unless you are moving from off-base housing into on-base housing. To ensure you find the best housing options possible, be sure to visit your Housing Referral Office. It is essential to choose your location carefully and be sure to have the HRO review any lease agreements you may be required to sign.
Be sure to place your name on the housing list when you first arrive, even if you intend to live off base. If you fail to add your name upon arrival and later decide you wish to live in on-base housing, your name will go on the list based on the date you place your request on the list, not the date of your arrival. For more information, call 817-782-5711 or DSN 312-739-5711.
NAS JRB Fort Worth is made up of approximately 40 separate commands. Each command is responsible for scheduling its new arrivals for a Base Indoctrination briefing. Please check with your command’s administrative section to find out when you will be scheduled to attend Base Indoctrination.
The FFSC’s RAP phone number is 817-782-5287 or DSN 312-739-5287.
