Individuals who own pets that are normally considered livestock should be aware of the fact that there are interstate regulations which govern the interstate transport of such animals. The state will still consider these animals to be livestock regardless of whether or not your family may consider them to be pets.
Planning for shipment of your pet includes researching airline requirements and quarantine restriction laws in your new location. You will need to ask the airlines the requirements for size, weight, number of animals, kennel construction, documentation and season of the year limitations. Occasionally, small pets can be shipped on military flights, but availability, regulations and fees are always changing.
