Youth Services

Sigsbee Park houses the Youth Center on NAS Key West may be found at the across the street from the Exchange and Commissary. Following are some of the programs offered through youth activities:  

Open Recreation -- Open recreation is offered in the Youth Gym on Tuesday and Thursday. Open recreation provides the opportunity for children to socialize with peers in a safe and friendly environment. Activities include pool, bumper pool, basketball, board games, video games, computers and other recreational activities. Friday and Saturday night activities are also offered.

Special Events -- Throughout the year, Youth Activities hosts special events such as Carnivals, Fun and Fitness programs, the Youthfest, Winterfest, sports clinics and a variety of field trips to area attractions.

The Teen Volunteer Work Program is a summer program for teens who work for various Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) facilities earning credits for organized teen trips and activities.

The youth activities program consists of many different programs to accommodate the military and DOD youth, ages 10-17 years of age. Youth activities has experienced staff that foster the social and environmental interaction, education and creative talents of dependent youth at NAS Key West, both military and DOD civilians.

Youth must have a completed youth membership form on file and must present a membership card for admittance to all activities.

The youth activities program consists of many different programs to accommodate the military and DOD youth, ages 10-17 years of age. Contact the Youth Center for more information, 305-293-4437.

School age care is provided at the NAS Key West youth center and transportation is provided by the Youth Center to and from the on base school. Program includes breakfast lunch (when applicable) and a daily afternoon snack. Early release days from school will be accommodated. On school holidays that do not coincide with federal holidays, the Youth Center will be open for full day care. Hours are from 6:00am - 6:00pm

Currently NAS Key West does not have a youth sports program. There are many opportunities for youth sports in the local community. These sports are coordinated by various agencies. Please contact the youth center at 305-293-4437 for more information.
