Geographical bachelors must put in a request for GB berthing to be decided by the Geographical Bachelor Board. Note: geographical bachelor space is extremely limited.
In accordance with Commander, Navy Installations Command Instruction 5009.5 only 10% of the total permanent party bed spaces can be used to accommodate GBs. A GB is anyone drawing Basic Allowance for Housing at the “with dependent” rate with orders that allows for the transfer of their dependents. GBs are berthed in a MOD regardless of rank on a space available category and will be displaced for personnel of higher priority, per CNIC Instruction 5009.5.
All personnel requesting to reside in unaccompanied housing while drawing BAH at the “with dependent” rate will be required to fill out the appropriate paperwork to be placed on the waiting list, as well as any additional paperwork required to be considered for GB status.
There is no unaccompanied housing for officers aboard Naval Air Station Patuxent River. A housing management specialist can assist with finding accommodations. Please call 301-342-3846 for inquiries.
