Government Housing

When you arrive at NAS Patuxent River, please visit the Housing Service Center (Bldg. 2371) for all your housing needs. Should you arrive after normal business hours (7 a.m. to 4 p.m.), our foyer is open 24-hours a day and contains local maps, as well as information and points of interest in the surrounding area.

Directions

When entering Gate 1, go to the traffic light and take a right on to Cuddihy Road. The Housing Service Center is on the right about ½ of a mile down. If you enter Gate 2, take the second left on to Mandt Road. Then take an immediate left on to Bundy Road and then a right on to Cuddihy Road. The Housing Service Center (Bldg. 2371) is down about ¼ of a mile on the left.

Availability

Lincoln Military Housing currently manages all 749 housing units in 6 different communities at NAS Patuxent River. There are 3 communities located on base; Carpenter Park, Lovell Cove and Gold Coast. There are 3 communities located off base; Columbia Colony, Challenger Estates and Glenn Forest. Wait times vary depending on date of arrival and bedroom entitlement.

Special Needs Housing

Liberty Military Housing does offer ADA-compliant housing units. Please call 240-384-2435 for specifics and availability.

Application

To apply for military Family Housing, complete and submit an Application for Assignment to Housing (DD Form 1746) along with your Permanent Change of Station (PCS) Orders and a "current" Certification of Dependents (Page 2) which reflects who will be residing with you. To secure your position on our waitlist, you must e-mail, fax or bring us a copy of your "Loss UIC Statement" (Detachment Endorsement) reflecting your detachment date from your last permanent duty station, no later than 30-days from your report date. UNACCOMPANIED HOUSING

Depending on assignment status (shore duty, sea duty, student, etc.) and pay grade, unaccompanied housing (UH) options include barracks or dorms, and housing in the local community.

BARRACKS AND DORMS

Most personnel, E1-E3 and E4 < 4, are required to live in UH; E4s may be required to live on-base, space permitting.  More senior personnel may be eligible to live in UH. Additional on-base UH eligibility information can be found on Navy Housing headquarters website.

There are many advantages to living on-base for single Sailors:

UH is conveniently located on NAS Patuxent River, housing approximately 204 personnel in 1 building. Building 2818 consists of 73 Market Style Units with a full kitchen and living area.  There are 4 ADA rooms, 3 multipurpose rooms with large screen televisions, games, and places to gather. Two designated reading rooms allowing residents to escape their rooms and study or browse the internet. There are bike lockers, a grilling area, and an NCAA regulation-sized basketball court as well. Liberty Zone is centrally located for easier access by Sailors. Each unit has wall-to-wall vinyl hardwood flooring and consists of two rooms, a living room and kitchen.  

Each room consists of full bathroom with vanity sink, two captain’s beds with headboard, nightstand, desk with desk chair, dresser chest, and two closets. Living room consists of a 50” smart TV, two full size sofas, end table and lamp. Kitchen includes full-size refrigerator, microwave, iron and ironing board, washer/dryer, full size stove with oven and a disposal. All rooms are equipped with cable, internet and phone outlets, but are the responsibility of the resident to attain these services within their room. Linen is provided by the staff but must be maintained by the resident.

All rooms are subject to weekly inspections and residents are required to maintain daily living standards and comply with UH rules and regulations.
