Your Military and Family Support Center provides relocation assistance to help make PCS moves as smooth as possible. Resources include:
Contact the Fleet and Family Support Center or service equivalent at your present duty station to prepare for your move to Naval Air Station Patuxent River. Relocation services are provided for the entire moving process.
Outbound services – A limited reference library of information has Welcome Aboard compact disks for bases around the world available for short-term check-out. A well-stocked Loan Locker and relocation workshops are also offered.
Inbound services – Our FFSC provides Welcome Aboard packets to sponsors and, if necessary, will help you find a sponsor if you haven't heard from one. Workshops are provided on numerous relocation issues on a regular basis.
Please take advantage of our well-stocked Loan Locker which is maintained at the Travel Office, for use by both inbound and outbound personnel and their families. Loan Locker items can be checked out for 30 days initially, with up to 60 days extension upon request. Loan Locker is stored at Morale, Welfare and Recreation.
Relocation Assistance
The NAS Patuxent River FFSC offers a wide variety of services, support and programs to help ease the stress and financial strain of a permanent change of station move. Services available to all active-duty members and their families include a Loan Locker (located at the MWR Building) with commonly used kitchen items, as well as foam sleeping mats, folding director-style chairs, folding tables, coffee makers and 700-watt microwave ovens. Hard-copy and internet-based information is provided covering subjects such as employment, childcare, housings, schools and a myriad of other topics of importance to new arrivals.
