The NPSHVP offers home visits focusing on the needs of infants and young children, prenatal and postnatal care, parent education and social support for the families. Our team works with parents to determine your needs and additional services that may be available in the military or civilian community. Educational materials regarding prenatal and postpartum care, child care and development, discipline, child safety and community information are available. For more information, contact the NPSHVP at 360-257-6779.
Visiting Nurse
The Navy Marine Corps Relief Society's Visiting Nurse Program provides home visits to military families with a new baby, which includes an initial assessment for both mom and baby. The nurse then tailors the services based on the family's individual needs. Visiting nurse services are delivered free of charge. For more information, contact the NMCRS at 360-257-2728 and ask for the visiting nurse.
Budgeting for Baby
The Navy Marine Corps Relief Society teaches a one-and-a-half-hour Budget for Baby class twice a month to prepare families financially for the arrival of a new baby. Besides getting financial education, upon completion of the class the family will receive complimentary items, such as a handmade blanket, a monetary gift card, and are given the opportunity to shop the NMCRS thrift store for free. To register for the class, contact the NMCRS at 360-257-2728.
