Programs and services are available at most installations for children up to age 12. Care may be provided in Child Development Centers, School Age Care Programs, and Family Child Care Homes. Please review the information to find out what programs and services are available at this installation. Full-time childcare is provided for infants, pretoddlers, toddlers and preschoolers. School-Age Care (Before/After School) and youth camps are offered for children Kindergarten – twelve years of age. You can enroll your child on the waiting list by going online to militarychildcare.com. Eligibility and Enrollment
Open to active-duty, civilian, Reservist on active duty or inactive duty for training, and contractors associated with the base. There are also special programs to assist Wounded Warriors, Fallen Warriors' family members, and Individual Augmentees.
Waiting Lists
A waiting list is maintained separately for different age groups: Infants,1 year olds (Pre-Toddlers), 2 year olds (Toddlers), 3-5 year olds (Preschool),Pre-K (4yrs before September 1st), and School-Age Care (Kindergarten – 12 years). Parents with children on the waiting list are obligated to log onto MCC beginning of each month to verify the need for service. Failure to call and update information will result in the child's name being removed from the list.
Fees
The Military Child Care Act of 1989, requires the Office of the Secretary of Defense to prescribe uniform fee regulations for Military Child Development Centers Worldwide. Fees are based on total family gross income and apply to all children attending on a regular basis. Fees are due every military pay day. Hourly care fees are due prior to appointment.
Military Child Care in Your Neighborhood
MCCYN is a fee assistance program that keeps affordable child care in reach for eligible families. It’s intended for families who cannot access military-operated care due to distance or waitlists. With fee assistance, a portion of your child care cost is paid to reduce the cost of using community-based care. The goal is to make it easier for you to afford quality child care from local community providers when you cannot access military care.

The CDC is a National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accredited program, offering full-time and hourly/drop-in care for children ages six weeks to five years. Additionally, the CDC offers one class for Georgia Bright from the Start Pre-K program. The Georgia PreK program offers 6 and half hours of free instructional care for children that are age four by September 1 and are a Georgia resident.
The Camden County School System is pleased to offer an after-school daycare program at all Elementary Schools beginning on the first day of school. The program is provided as an extension of the school day and is not available on school holidays or teacher work days. This program is recreational (not educational) in nature. Office hours ae 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. M-F. Scheduled Days are based on the present Camden County School District Calendar.
You can enroll online at: www.camden.k12.ga.us. Annual registration fee is $50 per child or $100 per family of 3 or more children. (Registration fees are non-refundable). Weekly rates: Before School Care is $50 per week and After School Care is $75 per week and Before and After Care is $85 per week. (Extended Day does NOT offer prorated weeks)
Extended Day Program Sites are open for Before School from 6:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. - 6 p.m. Monday – Friday. Drop-in Students are welcome if space is available for them. Drop-in rates are provided at each individual location. On the twenty-first day a child attends a drop-in, he/she owes the registration fee. Reduced rates are available for students who receive free or reduced school lunches. Parents of students with special needs must contact the Extended Day Program office at 912-729-5687 to schedule a conference to evaluate the child's particular daycare needs. This conference must take place at least 48 hours prior to the Child’s first date of attendance.
