Learn about the variety of housing possibilities available as well as information about setting up utilities in your home . Housing options are available to your unique situation including: housing for families, single service members, families that are enrolled in the exceptional family member program, pet owners and unaccompanied personnel. Explore your options to find a home that best fits your needs.
Housing Services Center (HSC) -- The HSC is your contact for any problems you may encounter such as discrimination complaints, tenant/landlord disputes, or any questions or problems about off-base housing is the HSC. The HSC will provide you a list of rentals with corresponding locator maps and give you information regarding the communities in which the rentals are located. All renters should carry renters insurance against fire, theft and other damages. The property owner's insurance will cover the property but not the renter’s personal property. Transfer coverage after you arrive.
Application and eligibility:
All service members and their family members are eligible for privatized family housing. Unaccompanied personnel E4 and above are also eligible to apply; however, they are a lower priority than families.
You must check into housing within 30 days of arrival to secure full local move benefits.
In order to apply for privatized family housing, the following documents will be required:
Your control date for base housing will be your detaching date from your last permanent duty station if you apply for housing within 30 days of your report-to-duty date.
Resident guidelines, including the pet policy for Public/Private Venture housing on Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay are available on the NSB Kings Bay Homes website.
Service members requiring information about privatized housing at a prospective duty station may use the Housing Early Assistance Tool. HEAT allows service members to make earlier contact, complete their application and after receiving orders, be placed on the wait list.
Reporting requirements:
All service members who are transferring to the Kings Bay area, with or without dependents are directed to contact the Navy Housing Services Center before making any off-base housing commitments.
