Learn about the variety of housing possibilities available as well as information about setting up utilities in your home . Housing options are available to your unique situation including: housing for families, single service members, families that are enrolled in the exceptional family member program, pet owners and unaccompanied personnel. Explore your options to find a home that best fits your needs.
You’ve come to the right place for housing help. The Housing Service Center is ready to help you and your family find suitable and affordable housing. All families have the option to either live in privatized housing, managed by Balfour Beatty Communities (government owned/leased housing), or out in town. Either way, the HSC can help you.
Privatized housing, also known as Public/Private Venture, is a partnership between the Navy and a private company. Navy policy is to rely first on PPV to improve family housing. After all, it’s the best way to ensure you have the opportunity to reside in a high-quality home. With privatized housing, military families are getting more amenities with their BAH than ever before. The HSC has 449 PPV family homes for officers and enlisted service members. The average wait for PPV housing is 3-12 months.
Application and eligibility: All service members and their family members are eligible for privatized family housing. Unaccompanied personnel E-4 and above are also eligible to apply, but they have lower priority than families. To secure full local move benefits, you must check into housing within 30 days of arrival.
We can also assist you with housing referral services. Learn more at https://www.homes.mil.
The following documents are required to apply for privatized housing:
If you apply for housing within 30 days of your report-to-duty date, your control date for base housing will be your detaching date from your last permanent duty station.
Resident guidelines, including the pet policy for Public/Private Venture housing on Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay are available on the NSB Kings Bay Homes website.
Service members can use the Housing Early Assistance Tool to obtain information about privatized housing at a prospective duty station. HEAT allows service members to make earlier contact, complete their application and be placed on the wait list after receiving orders.
