Here, you’ll find information and options about the services you have regarding healthcare.
Military Treatment Facility
Presidio of Monterey U.S. Army Health Clinic’s appointment line is 800-404-4506, open Monday- Friday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. You may also schedule pediatric appointments by calling the CAL MED Call Center at 866-957-2256 Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for more information visit the California Medical Detachment main clinic website.
Branch Dental Clinic
The Dental facility is located at the Naval Postgraduate School Campus on 1 University Circle, Monterey, CA 93943, 4th Floor of Hermann Hall. Limited to treating only active-duty personnel. Community Health Care Facilities
Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula (CHOMP) is the main hospital on the Monterey Peninsula. The hospital is open 24 hours a day seven days a week 365 days per year including holidays, although services are provided 24/7 not all departments are available. The hospital can be reached at 888-45CHOMP or 831-624-5311.
Natividad is a hospital and Level II Trauma Center located in Salinas, the hospital can be reached at 831-755-4111. The hospital is open 24 hours a day seven days a week 365 days per year including holidays, although services are provided 24/7 not all departments are available.
Salinas Valley Health is an Acute Care Medical Center and healthcare system located in Salinas, can be reached at 831-757-3627.

Filling prescriptions while traveling

TRICARE Family Medical Options

MTF Pharmacy Services
The California Medical Detachment offers conventional prescription filling pharmacy services, at the Presidio of Monterey. You can fill prescriptions at no cost from our pharmacy if it is on the TRICARE Formulary and available from our vendor. We can provide up to a 90-day supply for most medications. We serve active-duty service members, TRICARE-enrolled retirees and dependents.
New Prescription Information
We take hardcopy and electronic prescriptions (preferred). WE DO NOT TAKE FAXES.
Activating New or Renewal Prescriptions
Prescription Renewals are prescriptions that a patient has previously taken but a new/updated prescription has been sent by the provider. If a prescription no longer has refills or has expired a renewal must be sent to the pharmacy. Patients can request renewals through secure messaging their provider via the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal, at provider appointments, or calling their provider.
Visit the Lobby: Proceed to kiosk in the clinic and follow the instructions on the screen.
3. Call
The pharmacy is located at the POM’s Branch Medical Clinic. It provides the most physician-prescribed and over-the-counter medicines.
The pharmacy's hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Closed daily for lunch, 1 to 2 p.m. closed every Thursday after 1 p.m. Closed federal holidays and selected training holidays

Prescription Refills
Only use these options if you have unexpired prescriptions which have valid refills.
Prescriptions not picked up within 10 days will be returned to stock. They will need to be refilled using the options above.
Transfer Prescriptions
If you have previously filled a prescription at another MTF pharmacy and you have a prescription number, you can refill your prescription in the three ways listed above.
If you have a prescription located at a local pharmacy (CVS, Walgreens, Rite-Aid, etc.), call us for a prescription transfer (866-957-2256, Option #6) or come into the lobby to fill out a Prescription Transfer Form.
