Off Post Availability.
Monterey and the surrounding area is a very popular tourist attraction year-round. While there are many motels, hotels and other accommodations in the area, it is possible for there to be no vacancies. Most of the accommodations are very expensive. Always make reservations and be sure to check the prices. Even chains that are very reasonable in other sections of the country will have higher prices here.
Reservations can be made with Resort to Me by calling 800-757-5646 or 831-646-9250. This is an agency that will locate accommodations to fit your needs. All that’s needed is for you to call and tell them how many people are coming, what your preferred area of reservation you would like, what price range you want, and if you need pet accommodations or special accommodations.
Check with the Transportation Travel Management Office at 831-242-6803 for information about shipping pets and all housing items. All housing and apartments have pet deposits and some have a monthly fee for pets.
If consolidated bachelor quarters and the IHG of the Navy Lodge are unavailable, it is recommended that students and their family and/or staff be prepared to stay in a hotel for the first week or so while checking out of the housing in the area. The average cost is $90.00 to 150.00 per night per room depending on location, and seasonal and local event schedule. Keep in mind that Monterey is a high resort area and oftentimes has many large local events going on, so lodging can be difficult.
