Your Military and Family Support Center provides relocation assistance to help make PCS moves as smooth as possible. Resources include:
The Fleet and Family Support Center provides a variety of up-to-date information on TRICARE health care, child care, community events and other topics of interest. Our staff and volunteers can tell you about a wide range of military and civilian activities, organizations and services available both on and off base. The FFSC provides workshops and classes in conflict management for children, anger management, stress management, suicide prevention, parenting classes, couples communication and stranger danger. The FFSC provides support and assistance to families with exceptional family members, as well as relocation assistance and opportunities for additional classes. New Student Orientation is a one-day event. Plan your schedule to include a late morning medical and dental express check-in, followed by early afternoon presentations from our president, provost, academic dean, dean of students and senior service branch representatives. In the evening, spouses are invited to an information fair designed to acquaint them with TRICARE; Morale, Welfare and Recreation; FFSC and housing, educational and employment opportunities. Installation Specific Information
The Naval Postgraduate School FFSC aids transferring service members and their families by providing information on their next assignment. We also provide assistance in getting settled through our Resource Room with rental listings, daily newspapers, telephone and internet access.Other programs and workshops include:Smooth Move Outside the Continental U.S. – This seminar addresses the entire OCONUS relocation process, including household goods shipments, permanent change of station entitlements and financial planning for relocation, travel with children and pets, and the emotional aspects of relocation. The seminar is held as needed.New Student Indoctrination – Coordinated by the Naval Postgraduate School, the indoctrination brief covers a wide range of topics for new students and their spouses and is held one evening at the start of each academic quarter. Speakers welcome newcomers and outline programs and resources available to newcomers. An informative staff member is available at the FFSC booth during the New Student Indoctrination and can provide literature and answer questions.
