NPS STAFF JUDGE ADVOCATE LEGAL SERVICES. NPS STAFF JUDGE ADVOCATE LEGAL SERVICES. NPS Staff Judge Advocate only provides notary services to eligible personnel ( i.e., active duty military and their dependents, retired military with ID card and their dependents with ID cards) for final documents ready to be signed (except for real estate closing documents). Please reach out to SJA@nps.edu for assistance. For legal assistance with the drafting of a will, signing real estate closing documents, creating a unique power of attorney, or any other legal advice, Navy and/or Marine Corps personnel should contact the Legal Assistance Office at NAS Lemoore via email: LEM_legalassistance@us.navy.mil or telephone: (559) 998-2800 for remote assistance. US Army Personnel can reach out to the Presidio of Monterey legal assistance office phone number is 831-242-5084. They are located in Cottage 358 on Buffalo Soldier Trail off Pvt. Bolio Road. US Air Force Personnel can contact the Legal Office at Travis Air Force Base. Their office number is 707-424-3251 or 707-4241167.

Legal Assistance Overview

Legal assistance is available to you and your family. Below, you’ll find information about claims and installation specific programs and services. If you have questions, reach out to the legal assistance program at your installation.

Legal Services

The Legal Office includes the Staff Judge Advocate (SJA), one paralegal, and one legal man. The office provides legal support to the NPS President and staff on all command-related issues.

Notary Services

Notary services for final documents ready to be signed are available in the SJA Office in Building 273 for active duty, reservists, retirees, and family members with military identification. Notary services are available by appointment only. Please call 831-656-3610 or email sja@nps.edu to schedule an appointment. You will need to bring your military ID and either a current driver’s license or passport with you.

All Other Legal Assistance Services

Please call the Army Legal Assistance Office at the Presidio of Monterey for an appointment at 831-242-5084. The Legal Assistance Office is located at Cottage 358 on Buffalo Soldier Trail off Pvt. Bolio Rd. at the Presidio of Monterey. It is open M-F 0800-1600.
