Health care services provided by the Department of Defense are available to you and your family at your installation. We know that finding the right health care is important, especially in special circumstances such as emergency or during recent move. Here, you’ll find information and options about the services you have regarding healthcare.
Contact the Naval Branch Health Clinic at 850-636-9402 and Branch Dental Clinic at 850-636-9404. The Naval Support Activity Panama City clinic is a detachment of the Pensacola Naval Hospital and operates as a primary care clinic with board certified providers and highly qualified team of staff members. Pensacola Naval Hospital is located approximately 100 miles from NSA Panama City.
There is a Veterans Affairs clinic which sees retired members. The VA clinic can be reached at 850-636-7000 and by visiting the Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System website.

Filling prescriptions while traveling
You should refill prescriptions before traveling. But if you run out of a prescription drug while traveling, visit Filling Prescriptions When Traveling.
Getting dental care while traveling
Getting dental care while traveling depends on your location and whether you are a service member or family member.
With permanent change of station orders, ask for a copy of your medical and dental records from your military treatment facility and the dental treatment facility. Do this at least one month before your PCS date. The MTF should also transfer a copy of your record and any family records to your new duty station or you may be able to hand carry them to your new duty station.
If you want someone else to be able to get medical or dental information on you or your family while you are moving, you need to complete a DD Form 2870, "Authorization for Disclosure of Medical or Dental Information."

Naval Support Activity Panama City has a health clinic, a detachment of the Pensacola Naval Hospital, and an outpatient Veterans Affairs clinic. Pensacola Naval Hospital is located approximately 100 miles from Panama City. The clinic operates as a primary care clinic with board certified providers and highly qualified team of staff members.
Services are for active-duty service members and their family members enrolled in TRICARE Prime. Appointments can be made by calling toll-free 877-879-1621.
The installation provides pharmacy services at the Naval Branch Medical Clinic. As mentioned above, the clinic operates as a primary care clinic, whereby they offer pharmacy services only to individuals who are enrolled in the facility. No civilian prescriptions will be authorized at this site. For those who wish to have prescriptions filled, they will need to call in their prescription orders first at 888-513-4164. The hours of operation for this service are Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m.-3:45 p.m.
Emergency Care Tyndall Air Force Base no longer has emergency/acute care or obstetric, orthopedic, ENT, surgical or inpatient services. If you need immediate attention, you will need to go to the local emergency rooms. Bay County civilian community is served by two major medical facilities, Gulf Coast Medical Center and Bay Medical Center. Call the nurse call center at NSAPC for assistance at 877-879-1621, option 4. They will evaluate, treat minor emergencies and make referrals for more extensive follow-up treatment if needed. If you are active duty, become ill after 4 p.m. and cannot wait until the following work day to be seen at the NSAPC Branch Medical Clinic, you may also call Tyndall Air Force Base's primary care, available by appointment, at 800-824-3454.
Dental CareThe Branch Dental Clinic is staffed with one dentist and two dental technicians who provide dental services for active-duty military members. For special cases, active-duty members may be referred to Tyndall AFB or Naval Air Station Pensacola.
Due to active-duty treatment requirements, family members and retirees are seen only on a stand-by basis. Family members should use the TRICARE Family Member Dental Plan. For retirees and their family members, there is the Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program (FEDVIP).
Questions concerning enrollment in the TRICARE Family Member Dental Plan should be directed to the Branch Dental Clinic. They will assist you with your enrollment in this program.
