Morale, Welfare and Recreation's (MWR) My Generation Youth Center at Indian Head is an active, ongoing program that keeps the military children busy and involved.
MWR's youth programs provide a wide range of recreational, social and educational activities for children from 5 years old to age 18. Programs include before and after school care, special theme events and field trips to area attractions. There is also a Summer Day Camp for children entering first grade through 12 years old.
The My Generation Youth Center provides before & after school care, open rec, and summer camp programs to children ages 5 (and in kindergarten)-12 years. The program is a member of the Boys & Girls Club of America and provides nutritional snacks, arts & crafts, computer access, stimulating learning experiences and recreational activities to make up many fun-filled days.
Teen center
The Teen Center provides a wide range of recreational, social and educational activities for children ages 11-17.The center offers a place for children to use computers, play video games, watch movies, play board games and more. Homework help and supplies such as markers and paper are available for school projects.
Youth Employment
Fleet and Family Support Center (FFSC) is an excellent source for job information. FFSC employment counselors can assist in getting information on local jobs and contacts for summer employment.
The FFSC also offers a one-day training class that will give step-by-step instructions on how to be the best sitter ever. For more information call 540-653-1839.
Youth Sponsorship Program
NSF Indian Head has a Youth Sponsorship Program called PEER 2 PEER. This program is to connect incoming and outgoing youth to critical resources, on and off the installation needed to assist in a smooth transition. The PEER 2 PEER program will assist with youth development skills, making and maintaining new friends, and youth involvement in the center.
