Your Military and Family Support Center provides relocation assistance to help make PCS moves as smooth as possible. Resources include:
Contact your work and family life consultant at the Fleet and Family Support Center at your present duty station to prepare for your move. You may also contact the work and family life consultant at your new duty station to help you and your family make these all-important decisions. Relocation services are provided for the entire moving process. Come to the FFSC for answers to your questions and help along the way.
Outbound services – A reference library of information is available through this website, and relocation workshops are also offered. Help with the Department of Defense Personal Property System is also available.
Inbound services – Our FFSC will provide Welcome Aboard packets as well as workshops on numerous relocation issues on a regular basis.
Loan Locker hospitality kits – If you are arriving or leaving Naval Support Facility Indian Head and are without your household goods, visit the FFSC on Dahlgren to borrow items from our Loan Locker. Available items include dishes, pots and pans, tables and chairs, coffee pots, irons and toaster kits.
Relocation assistance
The FFSC Outreach Center at Indian Head is open every Wednesday, 1000-1500. Questions about Indian Head are welcomed by the FFSC’s Information and Referral specialists, who can be reached at 540-653-1839 or 800-500-4947.
The Naval Support Activity South Potomac FFSC offers a wide variety of services, support and programs to help ease the stress and financial strain of a permanent change of station move. Services available to all active-duty members and their families include a Loan Locker with commonly used kitchen items, as well as sleeping futons, folding tables and chairs, coffee pots, irons, toasters and linens.
