When planning for a move with the military, you might consider moving into government housing. Government housing is owned and maintained by the Department of Defense and is typically on the installation. Eligibility and availability for this type of housing may vary by service member, family size and installation. Availability
Currently, there are 136 enlisted single family quarters, and 15 officer housing quarters. Currently 6 of the base houses are designed for disability accessibility. There is a waiting list for government quarters. Waiting times fluctuate depending on the time of the year, and eligibility dates. Waiting lists are based on family size and rank. Contact the Indian Head housing office for information on your wait status.
Privatization
Lincoln Military Housing, a Public/Private Venture (PPV) is responsible for construction, renovation, maintenance and day-to-day management of base housing. Applications for NSF Indian Head base housing must be made on this form, and sent to the Housing Office with a copy of member's orders and a certification of dependents (Page 2). Applicant will be placed on waiting list based on grade and family composition. Control date for placement on waiting list will be the date of detachment from the last permanent duty station (provided confirmation of the application is made within 30 days of reporting to NSF Indian Head) or the date application is made in the Housing Office.

Eligibility
Applicants will be placed on waiting list based on grade and family composition. Exceptional Family Members (EFM) designated as Category IV and V are given priority placement on waiting lists for assignment to housing.
