When you arrive at your new installation, you’ll need to follow installation-specific procedures. Each installation and service handles in-processing differently. Here, you can find installation-specific guidelines and a list of documents to bring with you when checking- in. Reach out to the contacts provided if you have specific questions.
If you have not been assigned a sponsor prior to departing your losing base, please contact the Patrick SFB relocation manager by calling 321-494-5676 and they will assist with connecting you to a sponsor.
Upon arrival, all military members must in-process through their squadron commander support staff section before doing any other in-processing. Please bring any hand carried documents along with you (such as copies of your orders) to expedite in-processing tasks.
The Military & Family Readiness Center facilitates Newcomers Orientation on the 3rd Tuesday of each month as well as a tour of Cape Canaveral Space Force Station on the 3rd Wednesday for active duty, civilians, and their dependents. Please call the M&FRC at 321-494-5676 and ask to speak with the relocation program manager in order to get scheduled. In addition to assistance with Sponsorship and Newcomers, the M&FRC is also available to assist with financial matters, spouse employment and several other areas.
If you get married prior to your PCS move, you must inform your Commander and follow the procedures given to you. The military will not pay for the travel and housing expenses for your spouse if you do not follow proper procedures. It is important that you update and enter your new spouse into the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System as quickly as possible. Check with the local DEERS office on documents required to get your new spouse enrolled. Lastly, be sure to update your Record of Emergency Data and Servicemembers' Group Life Insurance with all new pertinent information.
Report to your unit's command support staff section and request permissive temporary duty travel for house hunting. Before beginning your house hunting, be sure to check with the Housing Management Office and the Military and Family Readiness Center for base and community information.
