Deployment can be a challenging phase of the military lifecycle, but it’s important to know that you don’t have to go through it alone. The military provides a variety of resources and support programs — ranging from educational briefings to morale calls — for your loved ones, children and service members to ease the stress of deployment. Military members may be assigned to a specific installation but support may come from local communities, Yellow Ribbon events or the installation itself.
The Family Readiness Program provides all Air & Space Force families assistance and support before, during and after times of local or national emergencies, disasters, mobilization, deployment, separation or evacuation. Program managers promote family preparedness through education, publication and participation in readiness support. Families are also provided assistance during extended absences of the military member, emergencies, and natural disasters.
Military life is a full-time commitment. Members of the active forces are in a continuous state of readiness. When you became a member of the military, you made the commitment to protect, honor, and serve your country. That commitment includes periods of military-induced family separation due to deployments, crisis situations, or evacuations.
The main purpose of the FRP is to support leadership in attaining mission readiness by providing services and education to families to improve their coping skills during military-induced family separations. As a part of the Air Force Quality of Life Initiative FRP assists and checks on families during times a service member is away on official duties. We also provide communication links between members and their families to improve morale.
Patrick SFB Military and Family Readiness Center's Family Readiness Program addresses deployment concerns. It provides information and programs on surviving deployment, hurricane preparation, coping with change and evacuee repatriation.
Pre- and post-deployment briefings are provided in groups and individually, as needed, to support operations.
Counseling, Assessment, and Referral: One-on-one counseling with service member/family member to assess their situations and needs during military-induced separations
Pre-deployment briefings are conducted at 10 a.m. on Thursdays at the PSFB M&FRC in Building 722.
