Legal Assistance

Active-duty members, retired members, reserve or guard on Title 10 order, and Department of Defense civilians who are stationed overseas, along with their family members are eligible for free-of-charge legal assistance. Contractors are eligible if included in their contract.

The assistance covers a range of issues to include:

• Claims
• Local legal support issues
• Legal assistance (personal and civil legal matters)
• Wills
• Notaries
• Power of attorney
• Tax services (January-April only)

Services Available: 

• Legal assistance, wills, and living wills: Appointment only on Tuesday 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. and Thursday 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.
• Notary and powers of attorney: Walk-Ins on Monday and Tuesday 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday 10 a.m. and on Friday 9 a.m.- 12 p.m.

• British assistance: By appointment only Monday and Thursday 9:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.

As of March 1, 2007, most claims filed for missing or damaged property are handled via the Air Force Claims Service Center, located at 1050 Forrer Blvd., Dayton, OH 45420-1472. They can be reached at toll free, 877-754-1212 or DSN 312-986-8044. The base legal office still handles a limited type of property damage and personal injury claims.
