Your Military and Family Support Center provides relocation assistance to help make PCS moves as smooth as possible. Resources include:
Virtual Pre-Arrival Orientation
Who: All in-bound personnel and their family members
What: This virtual orientation provides points of contact and general information about M&FRC programs, employment, PCS finances, schooling, Child and Youth Services, living in the U.K., housing, TRICARE and preparing your vehicle for use in the U.K.
When & where: This orientation will be delivered through the Microsoft Teams platform. During the registration process, you will be given a selection of available dates and times. The dates and times listed are for the U.K. / London Time Zone. You will need to convert this to your local time zone. Once your registration is complete, you will be sent a verification of the date and time selected and the link to join in. The workshop is offered twice a month, once at 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. and once at 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Local UK time

Newcomer’s Orientation
Who: All newly assigned personnel, and their family members, to RAF Lakenheath. Children are welcome in our space. We kindly ask that guardians help keep the area tidy and supervise their little ones.
What: This in-person orientation is conducted over two days (Tuesday and Wednesday of each week; except for the winter holidays and New Year’s). Topics covered include: M&FRC programs, surety awareness, required housing/dorm brief, mandatory TRICARE transfer, required finance appointment to complete travel voucher processing, wing leadership, wing driver’s safety briefing (required to take driving test), driver’s testing to receive local license, EO, chapel Services, and cultural adaptation in the U.K.

When & where: Every week at the Eagle’s Landing Community Events Center, Bldg. 958. Sign-in begins at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday and 7:25 a.m. on Wednesday. The schedule may be adjusted due to holidays, command events and maintenance. Updates will be emailed and posted on the M&FRC Facebook page.

Please notify your gaining CSS upon registering for the Newcomer’s Orientation.
Orientation guidance and a reminder email will be sent on Friday of the week prior to scheduled attendance (or on Thursday if Friday is a family day/holiday).
Helpful information for Sponsors
Are you a sponsor to a newly arriving member? If yes, the Military and Family Readiness Center can provide you with the tools to be successful through our Supplemental Sponsorship Workshop. Held monthly as the final step in becoming a trained sponsor after you have completed the required eSponsorship Application & Training, or eSAT, via Military OneSource. The workshop is designed to give the sponsor vital local knowledge and resource information to provide the newly arriving member and their family high-quality support.
