With certain military moves, you may find yourself looking for housing that’s a little less permanent before making long-term arrangements. There are several temporary housing options that may be right for you. Explore the information about temporary housing facilities including allowances, lodging rates and eligibility.

It’s recommended to call ahead to check availability and make reservations, especially during PCS season.

Guests staying at the Sheppard Inn can expect the following comforts and conveniences:

For PCS personnel, the first 10 nights are reimbursable (save your itemized receipts). After 10 days, payment switches to BAH rate.

Pet-friendly rooms are available - but limited in number, so reservations are required and should be made early.

  • Up to 2 pets per unit (dogs and/or cats) are allowed.
  • Guests must present up-to-date shot records at check-in.
  • A $10/night pet fee is added on top of room charges.
  • If no TLF rooms are available, arrange off-base boarding - there are no kennels on base

PCS-in and PCS-out families may stay up to 30 days, space permitting.

  • First 10 days are reimbursable; days 11–30 are covered by your BAH.
  • Stays beyond 30 days require a hardship waiver approved by the installation commander.
  • To extend past 30 days, submit a written request to Lodging at least 2 weeks in advance.

Call early to confirm availability and avoid gaps in lodging.

From the Main Gate (Avenue E/Sheppard Access Road):

  • Enter the gate and continue straight on Avenue E.
  • Turn left on 9th Avenue, then right on J Avenue.
  • Sheppard Inn will be on your left in Bldg. 1600, near the BX and Commissary.
