If you’ve ever considered taking your education a step further, you should look to your installation for more information and assistance. They can help you decide if receiving an advanced degree is right for you, tell you which local colleges and classes are offered and find out if you’re eligible for tuition assistance. The Voluntary Education Center, or Installation Education Center, is available to help you put together a plan to advance your education.
Military spouses can also choose to engage with an education and career coach through the DoD’s Spouse Education and Career Opportunities program, or SECO. These coaches can assist them in exploring multiple tools, resources and information to reach their educational goals. The Army Education Center is an integrated system of educational opportunities from earning a GED to becoming a graduate student. On duty remedial courses, counseling, testing, and German language programs are available for all active duty soldiers. Family members may participate on space available basis.
There are no classes currently being offered for test prep, CLEP, or SAT.
While there are no funded test prep courses at Hohenfels, there are resources to help you gain the advantage. There are several websites that allow you free access to Peterson's test prep information. The Hohenfels Education Center offers excellent opportunities for continuing your education while in Germany. Two-year, four-year, and master degree programs are offered from a variety of universities and colleges. For students who cannot fit traditional programs into their schedules, video and distance education courses are offered. All two year college degrees are part of the Service members' Opportunity Colleges Associate Degree Program (SOCAD). Continuing education opportunities via non-traditional methods such as evening, lunch hour and weekend classes, video courses, distance education, and open university.
