Your Military and Family Support Center provides relocation assistance to help make PCS moves as smooth as possible. Resources include:
Army Community Service Relocation Readiness Program provides services to support Department of the Army personnel and their families as they relocate. We provide a monthly community orientation called Hallo Hohenfels for incoming soldiers, family members, civilians and contractors.
The Lending Closet provides household items that can be loaned for a 30-day period. We can supply small appliances, microwaves, pots and pans, dishes, flatware, glasses, vacuums, irons and ironing boards for your use. Visit us in Building 10A or call 011-49-9472-708-2084 or DSN 314-522-2084.

Installation Specific Information
The RRP’s objective is to provide current information, guidance and support to soldiers, DA civilians and their families prior to, during and after their transition from one duty assignment to another. If you do require some additional assistance prior to moving, or when you get into country, don’t hesitate to call your Relocation Assistance Program at 011-49-9472-708-4860 from the United States or DSN 314-522-4860.
U.S. Garrison Bavaria Hohenfels Community employs a number of Department of Defense civilians along with contractors. DOD civilians are encouraged to review the Civilian Human Resources-Europe employee handbook. For the current handbook, refer to contacts/links at the Civilian Personnel Advisory Center. Contractors and employees of contracted companies are advised to check with their points of contact for additional guidance (schooling options, support from the local housing referral office, temporary furniture issue or loaner appliances).
The RRP, which is located at the ACS Satellite Office, B 10A and offers all of the above-mentioned opportunities for Soldiers and families just arriving to Hohenfels as well as those who are getting ready to depart to another duty station. Some more specific things that the RRP offers are:
Basic German Instruction -- Introductory German language instruction is offered each month during four two-hour sessions that take place on the first four Tuesdays of each month. Instruction is offered in the key areas of common phrases, shopping, eating out and travel. Classes are held at ACS and are free of charge. Participants also receive helpful take-home resources.
Hallo Hohenfels-Welcome to Bavaria --Hallo Hohenfels is a program where new families new people, learn more about their community, learn a little German and learn how to travel using the train and bus systems. We also offer two shopping trips and an opportunity to dine on the German economy.
Lending Closet -- This service is available to all relocating identification card holders while they are waiting for their shipment of household goods. Items include dishes, appliances, car and booster seats, ironing boards, slow cookers, high chairs, cribs and more.
Total Army Sponsorship Program – This program explains sponsorship and the benefits it offers to all involved. Learn how to become or request a sponsor; this details the assistance sponsors provide to personnel and their families. It recommends ways to put new arrivals in touch with resources. Sponsorship training is available for units, families and teens.
Smooth Move and Levy Briefing – These programs are developed especially for personnel awaiting their permanent change of station orders. Participants learn how to deal effectively with the emotional, financial and practical challenges of relocation. This workshop shows how to pack and unpack, and discusses the responsibilities of both service members and movers. It offers checklists and information on the new duty station, financial matters and more.
