They can help you decide if receiving an advanced degree is right for you, tell you which local colleges and classes are offered and find out if you’re eligible for tuition assistance. The Voluntary Education Center, or Installation Education Center, is available to help you put together a plan to advance your education.
Military spouses can also choose to engage with an education and career coach through the DoD’s Spouse Education and Career Opportunities program, or SECO. These coaches can assist them in exploring multiple tools, resources and information to reach their educational goals. Anniston Army Depot was the recipient of the Employee Recruitment and Retention Award during the Salute to Industry Week in Anniston on September 24, 2004.
Partnering with the Alabama State Department of Education, the depot provides on-site accredited vocational instruction combining classroom study and on-the-job training in the areas of machining, welding, and mechanics skills designed to renew the workforce.

Co-op program for college or technical school students available through Jacksonville State University and Ayers State Technical College. Students must be enrolled and apply through the school. Combined, these schools provide an array of valuable industrial and technical training in addition to business, secretarial, licensed practical nursing, medical assistant and cosmetology courses in one-and two-year programs.
