Installation Specific Information
Welcome to Davis-Monthan Air Force Base. Nothing is more important to us at the Military and Family Readiness Center than the well-being and smooth transition of you and your family into or out of the Davis-Monthan/Tucson community and the base. The Relocation Assistance Team at the M&FRC can provide accurate information and many types of assistance to relocating military, Department of Defense civilian employees, retirees and their family members. Some of the assistance available includes inbound and outbound relocation services, relocation planning assistance, internet information, relocation resources, relocation classes as well as sponsorship and seminars. Our goal is to reduce any anxiety or stress associated with making a move.
An integral component at Davis-Monthan is the regularly-scheduled base orientation program Desert Lightning Team Right Start. Spouses are welcome and highly encouraged to attend DLT Right Start which includes an information fair on the 1st & 3rd Wednesday of each month. Area agencies attend to answer questions and provide information for new individuals and families. Child care is available on a space available basis and is made possible by Air Force Aid Society funds. Up to 20 hours of child care is available per child for 60 days prior to departure and 60 days after arrival in Family Child Care homes. Families must obtain a voucher from the M&FRC before coordinating care with an FCC provider. To take advantage of the child care program, please report to the M&FRC with a copy of your orders before the day of DLT Right Start. If childcare is not possible, children are welcome to attend Right Start with their parent(s).
The M&FRC staff offers many useful services for relocated members and their families. The information and referral specialist may refer you to one of the many M&FRC programs, which were developed to meet the needs of the Air Force family. You may also be referred to local agencies on or off base depending on your needs.
