Our mission is to maintain America's Contingency Corps as a strategic crisis response force manned and trained to deploy rapidly by air, sea, and land anywhere in the world, in order to fight upon arrival and win. It is known as the Home of the Airborne and Special Operation Force. Fort Bragg houses the XVIII Airborne Corps and the 82nd Airborne Division, the U.S. Army Special Operations Command, and the U.S. Army Parachute Team (the Golden Knights). Fort Bragg units also include the Corps Support Command, 525th Battlefield Surveillance Brigade, 16th Military Police Brigade, 20th Engineer Brigade, 108th ADA Brigade, 44th Medical Command, 18th Fires Brigade and more.
COVID 19 Update – XVIII Airborne Corps, and Fort Bragg Guidance for Indoor Settings
Effective immediately, in concert with Department of Defense mandate, all personnel; Soldiers, civilians, and beneficiaries; must wear masks indoors on Fort Bragg, regardless of vaccination status. Additionally, unvaccinated personnel must wear masks in outdoors public spaces.
The COVID-19 Delta variant, which has caused an increase in our reported cases of the virus on Fort Bragg and in the surrounding communities, drives these policies.
To be clear:
Individuals must consistently wear a mask that covers the nose and mouth and that comports with all current guidance from the CDC and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Locations where masks must be worn include any common areas or shared workspaces (including open floorplan office spaces, cubicle embankment s, and conference rooms) and in outdoor shares spaces. Masks recommended by the CDC include non-medical disposable masks, masks made with breathable fabric (such as cotton), masks made with tightly woven fabric (i.e., fabrics that do not let light pass through when held up to a light source), masks with two or three layers, and masks with inner filter pockets. Novelty or non-protective masks, masks with ventilation valves, or face shields are not authorized as a substitute for masks. Masks must fit properly (i.e., snugly around the nose and chin with no large gaps around the sides of the face).
Defense Service Network (DSN) Dialing Instructions
The DSN is the provider of long-distance communications service for the Department of Defense (DoD). Every installation has a special DSN number and the numbers vary by world-wide location. In order to place a call using DSN, the caller must be using a military phone on an installation. Cell phones cannot dial DSN numbers. When dialing a DSN number from a United States installation to another United States installation, it is unnecessary to dial the DSN 312 area code. When dialing a DSN number to/from overseas locations, the DSN area code must be included.
