On Post
Start your job search with the Army Community Service (ACS).
Federal Service Positions-Civil Service is the primary on-post employer. If you are interested in civil service positions, contact the Civilian Personnel Advisory Center on post. Non-federal service positions (Non-appropriated funds) are also available. Applicants may also contact the Civilian Personnel Advisory Center for job listings and applications for these positions.
Local Community
In the local community, there are jobs available, but job hunting takes preparation and persistence.
Fort Leavenworth has many job opportunities available. There are a number of Contractors on post and they are happy to hire family members. Both our Commissary and PX have openings almost continuously. The unemployment rate in Leavenworth is very low. On average, hourly rates run between $7.50 - $15.00 an hour. There are many opportunities for part-time and seasonal work.
The local state employment office offers job search assistance, application assistance, resume writing and placement services.

The Soldier for Life program offers Transition Assistance (TAP). Individual and group counseling is available to learn about VA benefits, resume writing, translating military experience to the civilian resume. ACS offers information on tuition assistance and scholarship programs. Fort Leavenworth has an organization called Military Family Member Scholarship Fund that awards yearly scholarships.
