A wide range of programs are available for youth and teens, including youth sports and recreation programs, educational programs and programs that support leadership and career development. Please review the information to learn what programs and services are available at this installation.
The SAC/YC provide workforce preparation skill-building programs throughout the year using both Boys & Girls Club and 4H curriculum.
School Age Services
The SAS program is accredited by the Afterschool Association and provides the following programs:
Middle School/Teen Program
The Youth Program provides after-school and non-school day activities for youth in grades 6 through 12. Daily programming is offered within our 5 Core Service Areas of The Arts; Educational Support and Career Development; Character and Leadership Development; Sports, Fitness, and Recreation; and Health, Wellness, and Life Skills. The non-school days and summer days, and at additional times for special events. Youth Center programming is free after 1 p.m. daily. Fees for full-day programs, special events, and field trips may apply. Transportation is provided from the Middle School and High School in Sparta and Tomah during school days. Youth Sponsorship helps ease the transition for new youth coming to Fort McCoy by providing them with friendship, a warm welcome, and information about schools and the community. If you are new to Fort McCoy and would like to request a Youth Sponsor, please contact the School Liaison Officer at 502-898-6814.
Boy and girl scouting opportunities are provided within the local communities in which youth reside.
Sports, Fitness, and Recreation as well as Health, Wellness, and Life Skills opportunities are provided during daily activities at the CDC, SAC, and YC programs. StartSmart Sports, skill-development clinics, pick-up sports, and open gym are examples of sports and recreation programs offered during regular programming.
For youth religious programs such as Center Shot Ministry, contact the Religious Support Office at 502-898-3528. The Religious Support Office often partners with ACS for Resilience, Domestic Violence Awareness, EFMP programs, and many other workshops.
