Military and Family Support Center

Military and Family Support Centers provide information, education and support programs to help balance the demands of military life. Offerings include:

• Deployment support to assist you and your family during all phases of the deployment cycle. Learn more about deployment support.

• Confidential non-medical clinical counseling provides support for a wide range of issues from marital conflicts and stress management to coping with grief and deployment adjustments Learn more about confidential non-medical counseling.
• Personal and family life education assists with developing knowledge and skills to help you navigate your mobile military life.
• Personal financial readiness assists you and your family in building and maintaining your financial readiness.
• Employment assistance supports career exploration, education, training and licensing, career connections and employment readiness for military spouses, transitioning service members, and other family members. Learn more about the Spouse Education and Career Opportunities program, or SECO.
• Information and referral can assist you in identifying and clarifying needs and locating and connecting to services and programs available both on and off your installation.
• Morale, Welfare and Recreation, or MWR services provide lots of ways for you to connect with friends and others for entertainment, rest and relaxation — all at reduced or no cost. Learn more about MWR programs and services.

Information, Referral & Follow-Up: I&R offers services on a great variety of resources on post and off for active duty soldiers, National Guardsmen, Reservists, retired veterans and qualified Family members. 706-545-4043/7517/2536/4954

Army Emergency Relief: AER provides no-interest loans to active and retired Soldiers and their dependent Family members for emergencies in the areas of rent/mortgage, emergency travel, food, utilities, essential POV, funeral expenses, etc. For additional information please visit AER at Building 7 or call 706-545-1977/4043. 

Exceptional Family Member Program: EFMP provides a comprehensive and coordinated educational, community services/support  to families with special needs. For additional information please visit EFMP at Building 7 or call 706-545-5521/4043. 

Financial Readiness Program: FRP offers education, information and assistance in consumer issues, financial planning, budget development and debt management. Classes and briefings include Blended Retirement System (BRS), Thrift Savings Plan (TSP), Budget Development, Debt Management, Credit Development and Management, Insurance, Investments, Major Purchases, Community Resources, and Planning for Deployment, Transition, Retirement, or PCS. Relocation Readiness Program: RRP provides permanent change of station (PCS) planning, loan closet, foreign-born spouse support, settling in services and much more.  For additional information please visit RRP at Building 7 or call 706-545-0403/8783. 

Family Advocacy Program: FAP provides services to help strengthen Families and promote self-reliance, resiliency and stability. Victim Advocacy Program provides support to victims of spouse/partner abuse and sexual harassment/assault. Services include crisis intervention, emotional support, establishing a safety plan, referrals to counseling, shelter placement, legal assistance and more. New Parent Support Program provides emotional support, education, referrals to community resources, home visits, classes and playgroups for Families with children from birth to 3 years. For additional information please visit NPSP at Building 2652 on Dixie Road or call 706-626-2599/706-545-9358.

First Steps Program provides hospital visits to parents of newborns, education on Shaken Baby Syndrome, information about resources in the community, a CD to soothe a crying baby, and a Purple Crying CD to educate parents on the crying patterns of infants. Military Family Life Consultants: This DoD program provides confidential support to active duty soldiers, National Guardsmen, Reservists and their Family members. Survivor Outreach Services: Fort Benning's comprehensive Survivor Outreach Services program (SOS), is designed specifically to meet the needs of our Survivor population, with dedicated resources, and commitment to providing first-class service for as long as the Surviving Family members desires. The Survivor Outreach Services provides multiple services to Survivors at the Garrisons and communities closest to where Survivor Families live. The SOS services include, but are not limited to, support and focus groups, educational and financial services, life skills training and budget counseling.
