It’s likely that employment will change when a move occurs, especially for military spouses. The information below will provide you with employment assistance information and resources available such as SECO, MyCAA and MSEP Portals.
Job opportunities are greatly limited as to the type and salary. Jobs are more plentiful in Savannah, Brunswick, Statesboro and surrounding areas. Good employment prospects are Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Social Services, Construction, Physical Security, Teaching, Food Service, Warehouse and Management. Fair employment prospects are administrative, Engineering, Sales, Data Entry. Poor Employment Prospects are in teen employment.
ACS Employment Readiness Program (ERP)
Civilian Personnel Advisory Center (CPAC)
The Appropriated Funds (AF) and Non-Appropriated Funds (NAF) offices are located in the CPAC office, which is located in the Soldier Service Center, building 253. They provide job listings for federal jobs and instruct interested applicants on how to apply. The CPAC office also provides job vacancy announcements and applications for NAF jobs for Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield. Vacancy announcements are also available online. CPAC offers a quarterly Spouse Employment Preference Workshop and NAF offers monthly hiring events, alternating between Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield locations each month.
Department of Labor
The Georgia Department of Labor (DOL) operates the Hinesville Career Center which offers employment assistance, workshops and career development programs to assist military families with job searching. Hours of operation are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. DOL is located at 140 East M L King Jr Drive in Hinesville, Georgia. Chamber of Commerce
The Hinesville Chamber of Commerce is another good resource for employment opportunities. You may request a listing of businesses within the area to start your cold contacts and to understand the hiring process. Contact the office at 912-368-4445 for more information.
Other Sources
Contracting positions available for solicitation can be obtained at the contracting office located at building 621 on William H. Wilson Road Fort Stewart. To apply for positions at the commissary or any of the Army and Air Force Exchange (AAFES) facilities, openings are listed and applications are taken on their respective websites which can be found in the Contacts section. Job announcements are also available in the post newspaper, the Frontline and the local newspaper, The Coastal Courier.

Transition assistance is available through the Transition Assistance Program (TAP) which is located in Building 621 and by calling 912-767-2234.
