Services are designed to focus on money management issues throughout your active-duty lifecycle and into retirement. The Army Community Service Financial Readiness Program focuses on improving the client's personal financial skills such as budget development and financial planning. It also provides informational services on developing a spending plan, managing personal finances, evaluating assets and liabilities, and improving a client's ability to perform as an informed consumer. The cost of living in Hinesville, Georgia and Georgia in general, is lower than the national average. It is an affordable place to live. There is no Cost of Living Allowance for Fort Stewart but Temporary Lodging Expense is authorized for a limited amount of time. Contact the finance office for procedures dealing with TLE.
On-post guest quarters have two full beds and cost $61 plus tax per night for permanent change of station and $67 for leisure stays. There is a nonrefundable fee of $75 for pets and an additional charge of $7 per night. Hotels in the area have an average cost of about $75 per night for one room with two double beds. Average costs for renting ranges from $400 to roughly $1,200 depending on the size and type of housing. Purchasing a home averages from $35,000 to $850,000 depending on size and type. Average monthly utility payments can be as high as $450.
Georgia requires motor vehicle owners and lessees to maintain continuous mandatory liability insurance coverage of at least the minimum limits in order to drive on Georgia roads or highways. The minimum liability limits set by the state are bodily injury liability of $25,000 per person, $50,000 per occurrence, and property damage liability of $25,000 per occurrence.

If you have a medical emergency, go to the nearest hospital for treatment. If the emergency will delay your arrival or check-in at Fort Stewart, contact the reception center at 912-767-0113 for assistance and to let them know your situation.
Advanced Pay
Another possible solution to financial hardship is to draw advanced pay when you get to your receiving-duty station. When taking this option into consideration, you must realize that the payments to repay the advanced pay will be automatically deducted from your military pay, reducing future pay for several months.
