Policies and rules for shipping pets vary at each installation. It’s important to understand the regulations, prohibitions and laws at your new installation before moving with a pet. Below, you’ll find installation-specific details for registering, boarding and transporting your pet.
Animals entering the U.S. from a foreign country may be subject to regulation by USDA APHIS as all well as other federal agencies. Visit the USDA website to determine current criteria.
All pets residing on post must be registered with the Veterinarian Treatment Facility (VTF), be current on vaccinations and be microchipped. Failure to comply will result in the loss of VTF privileges until proper documentation is provided.
For those residing off post, Rabies vaccination must be given to all animals at 3 months of age. This must be done by a licensed veterinarian. Registration is mandatory for all animals residing in Liberty County. You can register your animals at any local vet clinic or the Liberty County Environmental Health Department. If you have any questions, please call 912-876-9191 or 912-368-5520.
Make sure your pet is in overall good health before traveling and that shots and vaccinations are current.
