Congratulations on your assignment to Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico. This is one of Air Education and Training Command's busiest installations, and will be one of your best assignments. New Mexico is truly a great place to work and play. We enjoy a warm, mild climate and exceptionally close ties with the surrounding communities. You will find the people of New Mexico to be gracious hosts who will make you feel very welcome.

Winter travel can be hazardous as many areas of New Mexico experience temperatures well below freezing. The New Mexico State Dept of Transportation may be reached at 1-800-432-4269 for weather, related road conditions and for road construction information.
Defense Service Network (DSN) Dialing Instructions
The DSN is the provider of long-distance communications service for the Department of Defense (DoD). Every installation has a special DSN number and the numbers vary by world-wide location. In order to place a call using DSN, the caller must be using a military phone on an installation. Cell phones cannot dial DSN numbers. When dialing a DSN number from a United States installation to another United States installation, it is unnecessary to dial the DSN 312 area code. When dialing a DSN number to/from overseas locations, the DSN area code must be included.
