If you’ve ever considered taking your education a step further, you should look to your installation for more information and assistance. They can help you decide if receiving an advanced degree is right for you, tell you which local colleges and classes are offered and find out if you’re eligible for tuition assistance. The Voluntary Education Center, or Installation Education Center, is available to help you put together a plan to advance your education.
Military spouses can also choose to engage with an education and career coach through the DoD’s Spouse Education and Career Opportunities program, or SECO. These coaches can assist them in exploring multiple tools, resources and information to reach their educational goals. The Keesler Education Services Flight assist customers with educational and professional development goals by providing a variety of programs and services. Opportunities such as a Community College of the Air Force degrees, officer and enlisted Professional Military Education, educational transition assistance seminars, plus academic and certificate funding are available. Free SAT, ACT exams, CLEP and DSST tests through Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Educational Support are available for servicemembers. For military members to be successful in their careers, they should be afforded opportunities to broaden their professional and academic knowledge to benefit themselves and the DoD. We stand by to help airmen and their supervisors reach educational and professional goals as early as possible, and throughout their military careers.
