Active-duty military personnel arriving at Kirtland Air Force Base during normal duty hours are to report in uniform to the commander’s support staff of their new unit as soon as possible after checking into their lodging.
If you arrive at Kirtland Air Force Base after normal duty hours, or on a weekend or holiday, you must check in at the Kirtland Inn Lodging Office, Building 22016, on 18th Street. Security Forces service members at any of the base gates can direct you to the Kirtland Inn, which is open 24 hours a day. You will need to report in uniform to your new unit’s CSS on the first normal duty day.
The Kirtland Air Force Base Welcome Center streamlines in-processing by providing services from representatives from all required base-level agencies such as Finance, Medical, Housing, Transportation Management Office, Military Personnel Flight and Pass and ID. Your CSS or sponsor will schedule your appointment for in-processing at the Welcome Center. The in-processing packet for the Welcome Center can be found on the Kirtland Air Force Base website by selecting Kirtland Air Force Base Welcome Center under Newcomers at the top of the webpage.
The Welcome Center is located in Room 119 of the Consolidated Support Center, Building 20245. The address of the Consolidated Support Center is 1451 4th St. SE, Kirtland Air Force Base, NM 87117.
Part of in-processing is attending the Newcomers’ Welcome Orientation & Information Fair. Please sign up to attend with the Airman and Family Readiness Flight before leaving the Consolidated Support Center after your in-processing appointment at the Welcome Center. The A&FRF is located in Suite 126 of the Consolidated Support Center and is open 7:15 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. You can also sign up for the Newcomers’ Welcome Orientation by calling the M&FRC at 505-846-0741/0751 or by sending an email to the Airman & Family Readiness Flight.
