Legal Assistance

The Legal Office and Judge Advocate is located in the 377 Air Base Wing Headquarters (Building 20604) and is open from 8:30 a.m.  to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Closed on Wednesday. For more information, call the office at 505-846-4217.

The office prepares general powers of attorney and provides notary services on a walk-in basis. Eligible individuals may also receive other legal services by appointment only. These services include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Preparing wills
• Healthcare powers of attorney
• Reviewing certain legal documents such as real estate contracts, lease agreements and purchase agreements

• Article 137 Reenlistment
• Post-Government Employment Ethics 
• New Employee/Initial Ethics 

Claims Service
The Claims Division will provide claim forms and instructions concerning the submission of claims for damages or loss of household goods. Those filing a claim must file within 180 days of the delivery of household goods.

Military Justice Division
Victims of crime and witnesses can receive briefings on the military justice system and their rights under the law from the Military Justice Division.

Eligibility for Services
Eligible recipients include:

• Active-duty military personnel and their family members
• Reserve personnel on active-duty status
• Retirees and their family members
• Survivors of deceased retired personnel
