If you’ve ever considered taking your education a step further, you should look to your installation for more information and assistance. They can help you decide if receiving an advanced degree is right for you, tell you which local colleges and classes are offered and find out if you’re eligible for tuition assistance. The Voluntary Education Center, or Installation Education Center, is available to help you put together a plan to advance your education.
Military spouses can also choose to engage with an education and career coach through the DoD’s Spouse Education and Career Opportunities program, or SECO. These coaches can assist them in exploring multiple tools, resources and information to reach their educational goals. College/Technical Training
The Voluntary Education Center provides on-base college programs ranging from Basic Skills to Doctorate programs. The team provides education counseling covering college admission, professional licensures, Tuition Assistance, financial aid, and Veteran Education Benefits. The center offers both face-to-face and online classes. Education Counseling services are available to active duty, reserves, family members, veterans, and DoD employees.
MCB Quantico Education Center also offers CLEP and DANTES exams online with instant results. These exams, if passed may be used for college credit, and they are offered to all eligible patrons and are FREE to active duty and reserve personnel. MCB Quantico also offers military classification testing to include AFCT, DLAB, DLPT, and OPI.
UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND GLOBAL CAMPUS: UMGC
Offers a wide range of programs including 29 Bachelor’s Degrees, 19 Master’s Degrees, a Doctoral Program and more than 80 certificate programs.
Many of UMGC’s academic programs can be completed entirely online, using state-of-the-art interactive classroom software. Students can also find a variety of courses taught in classrooms throughout Virginia, Maryland and the Washington, D.C., Metropolitan area.

Northern Virginia Community College
Offers the following degree programs aboard MCB Quantico:
AS Degrees in General Studies, AA Degrees in Liberal Arts, and AAS Degrees in Administration of Justice and Information System Technology.
NOVA offers over 160 associate degrees and certificates in-person and online.
NOVA has six main campuses and learning facilities with in-person classes and advisors at: Quantico, Ft. Belvoir, and Joint Base Myer/Henderson Hall.

Tuition Assistance
Active-duty Marines are eligible for tuition assistance funding. Marines receive up to $250 per semester credit hour / $166.67 per quarter hour, up to $4,500 per fiscal year for accredited, DOD approved programs.
