If you need emergency assistance, you can expect to get help from your installation, your branch of service resources. There are programs to support you in a variety of situations, including victim assistance, emergencies en route and service-specific relief societies. Below, you’ll find types of assistance, contact information, and detailed procedures and guidance to help you through any tough circumstances that you or your family may face.
For those active duty or retired military families who find themselves in unexpected, emergency financial situations, the Navy Marine Corps Relief Society stands ready to assist them with an interest free loan or outright grant. The program also provides assistance to spouses and orphans of deceased service members. Hours of operation are Tue & Thu 0900-1200 call 229-639-9106 for appointment , or active duty members should contact the American Red Cross. If you have a financial emergency while en route, you can get help at any nearby military installation or by calling the Red Cross at 1-877-272-7337.
Financial AssistanceIf you experience a financial emergency while in transit and you're not near a military installation, you can receive assistance from your nearest American Red Cross chapter. If you're near a military base you should contact their emergency relief office: Army Emergency Relief, Air Force Aid Society, Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society or the Coast Guard Mutual Aid Society. American Red Cross American Red Cross links members of the U.S. Armed Forces with their families during a crisis. Twenty-four hours a day, 365 days a year, the Red Cross quickly sends emergency communications to deployed service members on behalf of their family. Military members can have peace of mind knowing that when they are on a mission, in training or stationed far from home — and leaving cell phones and emails behind — they are still connected to home.

Should you encounter an emergency en route to Albany, GA, keep in mind that Red Cross offices are available and located throughout the United States.
Navy Marine Corps Relief SocietyThe Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society provides need-based financial assistance and other services to members of the naval services of the United States, and their eligible family members and survivors. MCLBA's NMCRS office is located in Building 3500 wing 500 / Rm 516. Office hours are by appointment only. Please call 229-639-9106 and leave a message. If you are in need of an urgent matter, you can contact Kings Bay 912-573-3928 to expedite your request.
NMCRS offers financial counseling, no-interest loans, grants, various support services, as well as referrals to other community-based resources when available. Services are free and confidential.
The society, operating in partnership with the Navy and Marine Corps, administers nearly 250 offices ashore and afloat at Navy and Marine Corps bases around the world. Our trained caseworkers are familiar with the special challenges and conditions of service life. They have a realistic understanding of the potential hardships facing service members and their families.
The society serves:
• Active-duty and retired Navy and Marine Corps personnel and their eligible family members
• Eligible family members of Navy and Marine Corps personnel who died on active duty or in a retired status
• Reservists on extended active duty for 30 days or more
• Indigent widows and mothers (65 years or older) of deceased service members who have limited resources and no family to provide for their welfare
• Ex-spouses who have not remarried and whose marriage to a service member lasted for at least 20 years while the service member was on active duty
Salvation Army The Salvation Army of Albany, GA administers many programs and services designed to restore broken lives, to build healthy relationships, and to develop and encourage people of all ages. We are more than just the bell-ringers that you see at Christmas outside the family stores that you see around town. We also offer programs such as:

• Music training
• Community-building and fellowship for adults
• Transitional housing
• Addictions rehabilitation

Victim Assistance
For immediate cases of emergency, dial 911. For emergency assistance after hours, including nights, weekends and holidays, call the victim advocate emergency number at 229-347-2651

Delayed ArrivalIf you're prevented from arriving within the time frame allotted on your orders or for difficulties other than financial, you should contact Headquarters Company or the OOD. For emergency assistance, your first contact should be your chain of command. If you're unable or unwilling to contact the chain of command, Personal Services may be able to assist you with crisis intervention or appropriate referral services.
