Misawa Air Base Legal

The Misawa Air Base Legal Weasels provides legal assistance for military members, civilian employees, Department of Defense contractors, retirees, and dependents. DOD contractor may receive notary services, but other services may be limited. DOD contractors must bring a copy of the contract to our office for verification. If you are unsure of your status, please call us at the number below and we can help you verify.

Legal services available at Misawa AB include, but are not limited to:

• Wills
• Advance medical directives
• Powers of attorney
• Notary services
• Family and consumer law issues
• Claims
• Naturalization/Citizenship 

We cannot provide assistance on:

• Criminal matters/administrative actions (please contact the Area Defense Counsel at DSN 315-226-3910, if needed)
• Representation in civilian courts
• Private businesses
• Real estate transactions

Legal Assistance Hours:

• Legal assistance: By appointment -- typically available, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Notaries and powers of attorney are offered as a walk-in assistance, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Wills, claims, divorce consultations, and everything else are by appointment only. Customers are required to call to schedule appointments.

*Additional appointments outside regular hours may be made with an attorney on a case-by-case basis. Priority is given to personnel preparing for deployment.
