The New Parent Support Program is a free support service designed to meet the needs of expectant active-duty military personnel, their spouses, and those military families with children under the age of four. The program offers prenatal and parenting skills and education to active-duty service members and their families.
NPSP's primary goal is to empower families to meet the challenges of parenthood while maintaining a military lifestyle. The program offers a variety of services, including early child development education, parenting classes, referrals, and home visitation services.
Typical parent educational opportunities include prenatal classes such as Dads 101 and Newborn Care, and Pregnancy Seminar. The theme for play groups is "Play Learn and Grow". During play groups, children have an opportunity to engage in a variety of different activities with parents that include craft time, singing with instruments and dance. In the summer, play group meets at the outdoor wade pool for Summer Splash. We also hold special events such as holiday parties, pinwheel garden planting, KidzFest and field trips to local family friendly places.
