NAS Oceana Youth Center

The Oceana Youth Center, located at 872 Hornet Drive, Building 526. The center offers a gym, computers, board games, video games, pool tables and various clubs. 

In addition, the Center offers:

• Before and After school programs - K thru 6th grade
• Summer day camp
• Spring and Winter break programs
• Teen Program

Hampton Roads Youth Centers offer a Summer Camp program.

Boy and Girl Scouts

Installations in Hampton Roads do not sponsor any scouting programs; however scouting programs are available in the community. Youth Religious Programs

The base Chapel offers programs for both Protestant and Catholic youths - religious development classes, summer Bible camps and group social gatherings. For more information about the programs offered, times and days, please call 757-433-2871 or DSN 312-433-2871.

Youth Employment

Employment Readiness - one-on-one counseling is available to include resume writing, job search techniques, completing an application, preparing for the interview, information about area Youth Employment Fairs and much more. For more information, call FFSC Oceana at 757-433-2912.

Youth Calendar and Sponsorship Program 

The youth activities monthly calendar is available for pick up at the Youth Center. For information on Youth Sponsorship, please contact the School Liaison Officer at 757-433-2496.

*All children under age eight must be properly restrained in a child safety seat or booster seat. Rear-facing child safety seats must be secured in the back seat of a vehicle.

*Children under age 13 should ride properly buckled in the back seat on every trip. 

*In the Hampton Roads area, the various cities impose a curfew on youth designed to ensure their safety. A child under the age of 18 may not be out between the hours of 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. unless accompanied by the parent, guardian, or other adult who has the care, custody, or control of the child. The curfew states that youth may not be present on "any street, road, alley, avenue, park, or other public place" or in "any vehicle operating or parked thereon."  Parents cannot give their child permission to break curfew.
