You may be expecting your first baby or busy with a toddler. That probably means you have your hands full, and may have questions. Thankfully, help is at hand.
The New Parent Support Program is a free service that helps military parents, including expectant parents, transition successfully into parenthood and provide a nurturing environment for their children. Services vary, but may include home visits, parenting classes, playgroups or prenatal classes.
The New Parent Support Program is a team made up of nurses, social workers and home visitation specialists who offer support and guidance by helping parents:

New Parent Support Program staff are child development professionals, including registered nurses, clinical social workers, and para-professionals trained in the delivery and practice of established home visiting models. The program is supervised and monitored at the installation level by the Family Advocacy program manager.
The program is available to military families who are expecting a baby or have children age 3 or younger. Marine Corps eligibility includes families with at least one child under 5.

Budgeting for Baby
The Navy Marine Corps Relief Society (NMCRS) has ‘Budgeting for Baby', a two-hour class to help prepare families financially for the arrival of a new baby. Upon completion of the class, participants will receive a $50 Amazon Gift Card and hand knit blanket. Budgeting for Baby is open to all ranks of Navy, Marine Corp and Coast Guard expectant parents and is not limited to first pregnancies.

NS Norfolk: Classes are held weekly monthly. To register for the class, contact the NMCRS at 757-322-1171.
JEB Little Creek/Fort Story: To register for the class, contact the NMCRS at 757-462-1596.
NWS Yorktown: Classes held by appointment, please call NMCR Norfolk 757-322-1171 and specify Yorktown.
Evening classes are available at Norfolk - call for dates and times.
NMC Portsmouth: Classes are held twice a month. To register for the class, contact the NMCRS at 757-953-5956.
Visiting Nurse
The Navy Marine Corps Relief Society's (NMCRS) Visiting Nurse Program offers home visits to military families with a new baby, which includes an initial assessment for both mom and baby. Each visit is approximately 30 -45 minutes and tailored to the needs of mother & child.
