If you need emergency assistance, you can expect to get help from your installation, your branch of service resources. There are programs to support you in a variety of situations, including victim assistance, emergencies en route and service-specific relief societies. Below, you’ll find types of assistance, contact information, and detailed procedures and guidance to help you through any tough circumstances that you or your family may face.
The Sexual Assault Prevention & Response Program serves as the single point of contact to facilitate victim support services, crisis intervention for non-clinical emergency care, and recovery-oriented care for survivors.
The mission is to promote military readiness by reducing sexual assault through prevention, sexual assault training & awareness, and provide SAPR policy & program assistance and support to commands, Sailors, families and civilian communities who are located aboard NSASP Dahlgren and Indian Head.
The SAPR Program is charged with preventing sexual assault in the military & facilitating recovery for survivors who are Active Duty and DEERS eligible, military dependents 18 years of age and older. CONUS government employees and non-military individuals who are victims of sexual assault are only eligible for limited SAPR Services.

The Fleet and Family Support Center offers victim advocacy services, including but not limited to: restricted and unrestricted reporting options; safety assessment/planning; information to victims on available benefits and services; referrals to military and eligible government employee victim assistance services; and individual/group support programs. The domestic abuse victim advocate is available to assist/provide command briefs on their position, Family Advocacy Program issues, and available resources. What should you do in case an emergency happens while you are traveling? Call your sponsor and your new command. Ensure that they know where you are and what the situation is. In order to do this, you must keep all the new telephone numbers with you.
Depending on how serious the emergency is, contact the American Red Cross. They are always available for emergency aid anywhere you may be. Contact the nearest chapter (phone numbers are usually listed in the white pages of the local phone directory). They can sometimes help with emergency financial assistance and contact individuals that will need to know where you are and what's happening. Call the American Red Cross: 800-733-2767, option 4. Listen to the different options and select which option best suits your situation.
Call your immediate family to let them know the situation.

Navy Marine Corps Relief Society (NMCRS) can provide financial emergency assistance based upon need, through either loans or, when there is a particular hardship, grants. Categories of financial assistance include: basic living expenses (food, shelter, utilities), medical not covered by TRICARE, dental not covered by Concordia, funeral expenses, emergency transportation, essential car repairs, pay and allotment problems, disasters and assistance for widows, mothers and children.

Make sure you have all your important papers and documents with you. If you are in-transit and need emergency assistance, locate the nearest military installation for help. If there is no installation in the area, call the local information operator emergency numbers.
Vital Records: Driver's licenses, birth certificates, adoption papers, Social Security cards, passports, citizenship papers (such as a "green card" or naturalization documents), marriage license, divorce decrees, child custody papers, current military ID, military discharge (DD Form 214), medical and vaccination records for pets along with current photos and ID chip numbers in case you are separated.
