It’s likely that employment will change when a move occurs, especially for military spouses. The information below will provide you with employment assistance information and resources available such as SECO, MyCAA and MSEP Portals.
Much of the employment in the local Dahlgren community centers around Department of Defense contractors who provide engineering, program management, system engineering, software development, computer and administrative support to the Naval Surface Warfare Division. These contractors recruit people with strong skills and experience in the fields of science, technology, research and computers.
There are more diverse employment options in Fredericksburg, Virginia, located about 35 miles from Dahlgren. Many employment opportunities exist in the sales, retail, medical, teaching, clerical, computer, and customer and food services.
Some of the on-base job opportunities for Naval Support Facility Dahlgren can be found on the Morale, Welfare and Recreation and USAJOBS websites. There are also several contract opportunities that can be found on the Indeed employment website.
