• Eligible applicants applying for financial assistance must now submit an application online
• You must include supporting documents and complete the spending plan and budget portion
• Go to the Air & Space Forces Aid Society website to apply for emergency financial assistance
• For after hours and emergency travel, call the American Red Cross at 1-877-272-7337 to request financial assistance
  • Note: emergency travel assistance is provided when a service member cannot get to the emergency location without help from AFAS and is not a military entitlement

Air & Space Forces Aid Society's Child Care for PCS and Give Parents A Break subsidy:

• Go to the AFAS website and click on How We Help
• Select Child Care Programs under Community Programs
• Select the appropriate link for Give Parents a Break or Child Care for PCS and complete the steps as directed
• Qualified applicants will receive an ACH deposit or Zelle transfer into their bank account to pay for child care

The American Red Cross is always available for emergency aid. Just contact the nearest Red Cross chapter listed in the local phone directory and explain your emergency. If the Red Cross can't cover the financial emergency they have a reciprocal agreement with the Air Force Aid Society to meet your needs.

Emergencies do occur to people while in transit. Before you depart your current installation, please ensure you have all your important documents with you. Too often, they end up packed with household goods.

Examples of important documents include:

• Orders
• Passport
• Medical records
• Sponsor's name and contact information
• First sergeant contact information
• Command post contact information
• Duty phone number
• Commander's support staff contact information
