If you’ve ever considered taking your education a step further, you should look to your installation for more information and assistance. They can help you decide if receiving an advanced degree is right for you, tell you which local colleges and classes are offered and find out if you’re eligible for tuition assistance. The Voluntary Education Center, or Installation Education Center, is available to help you put together a plan to advance your education.
Military spouses can also choose to engage with an education and career coach through the DoD’s Spouse Education and Career Opportunities program, or SECO. These coaches can assist them in exploring multiple tools, resources and information to reach their educational goals. Counseling is the key to the use of the programs and services at the Education Services Office. Counselors are available to assist military members in planning career and personal educational goals. The counselors provide information on the many facets of the Air Force Education Program, such as: the Community College of the Air Force, Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) educational benefits, commissioning programs. Appointments are not necessary, service is provided on a walk-in basis.
The National Test Center (NTC) is located directly behind the Education Office. CLEP and DSST exams are available electronically and the first administration of each CLEP/DSST exam is free to active military and the first administration of each CLEP exam is free to Air Force Civil Service employees. Active duty and Air Force Civil Service members, who wish to retake an exam, and eligible civilian dependents, who wish take an exam, will be assessed an exam and an administrative fee. Study materials are available at the Base Library.
Currently Osan AB is affiliated with three institutions of higher learning: University of Maryland, Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and Troy University. The University of Maryland offers certificate programs, two-year associate degree programs and four-year Bachelor’s degree programs.
Embry Riddle Aeronautical University offers a certificate, two-year associate degree programs and four-year Bachelor’s degree programs.
Troy University offers a non-thesis Master’s degree in International Relations.
