Job opportunities are limited as to the type and salary. Job opportunities are more plentiful just a 45-minute drive into the state capital. There are several contractors that work from the arsenal and they have many job opportunities from administrative to engineering. There are very few opportunities for teens in the community.

ACS Employment Readiness Program

The Employment Readiness Program, as with all Army Community Service programs, serves our Department of the Army civilians, active-duty military, National Guard, reservists and retirees, as well as their families. Classes are offered many times throughout the year during lunch hours to assist those who need help with finding employment. The following is a list of the services offered by this program.

Civilian Personnel Advisory Center

The Civilian Personnel Advisory Center is located in the administration building. When arriving at this office, you will find a list of all job announcements and instructions on how to apply.

Arkansas Employment Security Department

The Arkansas Workforce Center at Pine Bluff offers employment assistance, workshops and care development programs to assist with job searching. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. It is located at 1001 S. Tennessee St., Pine Bluff, AR 71601. For information, contact 870-534-1920.

Chamber of Commerce

The Pine Bluff Chamber of Commerce stands ready to assist you with your job search. You may obtain a list of potential employers to assist you with beginning your job search. It is located at 510 Main Street, Pine Bluff, AR 71611. For information, contact the office at 870-535-0110.

Eligibility for benefits is determined based on past wages and the reason for separation, and must meet job-search requirements. Claims for unemployment insurance may be filed at the Arkansas Employment Department located at 1001 S. Tennessee St., Pine Bluff, AR 71601. When filing a claim, you should bring the following:

• Your Social Security number
• Employer-issued separation letter or notice, if one was provided
• Names and addresses of all employers for the last 18 months and the dates worked
• Proof of immigration status if not a U.S. citizen
• Personal check with your account number and bank routing number if you want benefits deposited into your personal checking account.
• Claims are effective on the date they are filed and are not retroactive to the last day worked.

Transition Assistance

Requests for Transition Assistance are referred to Little Rock Air Force Base to assist Soldiers who are transitioning out.
