Policies and rules for shipping pets vary at each installation. It’s important to understand the regulations, prohibitions and laws at your new installation before moving with a pet. Below, you’ll find installation-specific details for registering, boarding and transporting your pet.
There is no quarantine for pets arriving from overseas locations. Pets that are disease-free and possess a valid veterinarian's certificate indicating that the pet has current rabies inoculations are permitted.
It is central to conduct advanced travel preparation for pets. Advanced travel preparations can minimize stress on your pet ensuring that your pet can safely move. It is recommended that you do not travel with your pet during extreme weather conditions. Traveling with pets during extreme weather conditions, particularly cold or hot weather, can result in hyper- and hypothermia, heart failure, even death. During summer months, it is best to schedule travel for early morning or evening hours. Purchasing a collar with an identification tag is also beneficial and should contain information with your pet's name, your name, your address, and phone number.
All pets kept on post must have city tags which can be obtained through the local veterinary office.
There are no boarding kennels located on post. However, there are several off-post agencies that would be able to assist you.
Army Community Service provides information and referral assistance for surrounding boarding kennels in the community.
