Programs and services are available at most installations for children up to age 12. Care may be provided in Child Development Centers, School Age Care Programs, and Family Child Care Homes. Please review the information to find out what programs and services are available at this installation. Family Child Care homes at RAFs Mildenhall, Lakenheath and Feltwell are monitored and certified by the FCC Program Office located at RAF Lakenheath (Bldg 250). Eligibility
RAF Mildenhall Child Development Center is available for children from six weeks up to 5 years of age. The Child Development Center (CDC) is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Youth Children and certified by the Department of Defense.
Hours of Operation
The program is closed on all Federal holidays and USAFE Family Days. The center is open for exercises as directed by the Wing Commander. The CDC is located in Bldg. 288. For more information please call commercial +44-(0)1638-54-2042 or DSN 314-238-2042.
Curriculum
The Early Learning Matters (ELM) Curriculum, developed by Purdue University, promotes positive outcomes in all areas of development from birth to age 5 years. It is based on the latest research development and best practices in early education and care. ELM offers a comprehensive, developmentally appropriate approach to meaningful learning for all children.
Registration
All requests for full-time care are done through MilitaryChildCare.com (MCC) website. Families are required to set up an account and place a request for care at this website. For hourly care you can reach us by telephone or by email at 100fss.childdevelop@us.af.mil.
Fees
Fees are based on total family income and are adjusted annually in accordance with the Military Child Care Act of 1996. USDA approved meals are included in the price.
