A wide range of programs are available for youth and teens, including youth sports and recreation programs, educational programs and programs that support leadership and career development. Please review the information to learn what programs and services are available at this installation.

School Age Care Program
RAF Mildenhall - The SAC program is located in Building 293. SAC provides before and after school care for children aged 5 to 12 years old (K-6th) attending DoDEA or British Schools (though only open on the DoDEA daily schedule and for holidays/breaks). For school age children attending DoDEA schools, parents can arrange transportation to/from SAC through the bus office. Our fully accredited SAC program fosters positive development and reinforces academic skills with a focus on building independence, responsibility, and self-esteem through engaging activities and environments. Children may be placed on the waiting list, if one exists, by registering at https://militarychildcare.com and searching for RAF Mildenhall.
The SAC program provides full-day camps for all school holidays, including winter, spring and summer breaks.
Open Recreation Program
When available, the Open Recreation Program is offered for registered members.
Note: In accordance with AFI 34-144, children under the age of 9 must be accompanied by parent or sibling 16 years of age or older.
The program offers self-directed play, encourages and invites members to participate in scheduled activities and clubs, and also offers field trips, social events, enrichment courses and more. Open Rec utilizes curriculum from Boys & Girls Clubs of America and from 4-H. For an up-to-date schedule, stop by or contact the Youth Center.
The best way to get your children involved is to become a member. Membership benefits include access to the open recreation area and member’s rates for trips, events and sports. Members are issued a membership card which is used to check out equipment and games, and to use computers. Members can also participate in the annual fine arts, digital arts and photography contests.
Instructional Classes
Classes are likely to be available for youth aged 2 to 18 years old, and taught by fully qualified instructors. Classes may include: Ballet, Tae Kwon Do/Hip Ki Do, Gymnastics. Ask for the Instructional Class brochure for a full listing of classes, days, times, and costs.
Youth Sports Program
The Youth Sports Program is open to children aged 5 to 18 years old. Seasonal sports offered at the Youth Center include: Indoor/Outdoor Soccer, Basketball, Baseball, and Flag Football. We also offer Volleyball for youth aged 9 to 18 years old. Youth Sports offers children aged 3 to 5 years old our 5 Star “Start Smart Program” which is a year-round program covering the fundamentals of team sports. During the summer months of June, July and August, the Sports Program expands to offer sports camps to include soccer, tennis, and kickball.
Teen Programs
The Teen Center is located in Building 220. Youth Programs offers the following for teens: Special teen specific trips, all-night lock-ins, Outdoor Adventure Programs, Keystone Leadership Club, Congressional Award Program, Youth of the Year Award, Presidential Volunteer Service Award, Fine Art and Photography opportunities and Sports. The Congressional Award Program offers national recognition for their achievements in community service, physical fitness, personal development and expedition/exploration.
Youth Sponsorship
The Youth Center offers a Pen Pal program for incoming youth. In order to obtain a pen pal prior to your arrival, send your name, address, interests/hobbies, age, grade in school and other information about yourself to the Programs Director by email: 100fss/schoolageall@us.af.mil. Youth Leadership Programs
Torch for youth aged 9 to 13 years old and Keystone Clubs for teens aged 14 to 18 years old) are small group BGCA clubs that focus youth on positive development in areas such as service to club and community, education & career development, fitness, social recreation and more.
